IMAGIN Diagnostic Centres, Inc. Completes US$2 Million Financing of Positron Corporation

Additional Funding Commitment Acquired of US$1 Million to Develop New PET and PET/CT Scanners

TORONTO-March 16, 2005. A group led by IMAGIN Diagnostic Centres, Inc., a private Canadian company which develops and operates PET (“Positron Emission Tomography”) centres for the diagnosis and staging of cancer, completed its initial financing commitment in the amount of US$2 million. IMAGIN facilitated an additional US$1 million investment into Positron from an institutional investor. The use of proceeds of the additional $1 millinew state-of-the-art PET and PET/CT technology.

Over the past year Positron has developed a national sales force with particular emphasis on the Cardiac PET market segment. Positron, although a factor competing with GE, Siemens and Philips in the PET market for cancer, is considered a leader in Cardiac PET.

The PET procedures industry is dominated by oncology; the diagnosis and staging of cancer that represents 88% of the market, that market is dominated by PET/CT scanners. The cardiac PET market which is serviced mainly by standalone PET scanners, represents only 8% of the PET market however heart disease remains the most significant cause of death representing $394 billion of all health care cost spent annually in the USA compared to approximately $190 billion as the total cost to the USA economy because of cancer. The remaining 4% of the PET scan market targets the diagnosis of neurological disease such as Alzheimer’s. Positron PET scanners are considered the leader in the Cardiac PET market segment.
